[spa] INTRODUCCIÓN:
La calidad de los cuidados en salud mental es un concepto multidimensional, influido por la relación terapéutica, la participación en la planificación del cuidado y la percepción del entorno, cuya manifestación impacta tanto en la recuperación de las personas atendidas como en la satisfacción laboral de los profesionales.
En el ámbito penitenciario, su evaluación es fundamental para garantizar una atención efectiva y humanizada. A pesar de la alta prevalencia de problemas de salud mental entre las personas ingresadas en los centros penitenciarios, existen pocas investigaciones que comparen la percepción de calidad de los cuidados entre las personas atendidas y los profesionales de la salud.
En este sentido, la familia de instrumentos Quality of Psychiatric Care (QPC) se presenta como la más adecuada, por su validación tanto en profesionales como en usuarios de diferentes ámbitos (comunitario, hospitalario y penitenciario). En España, se han validado instrumentos QPC para ámbitos hospitalarios y comunitarios, pero no existía una adaptación para el ámbito penitenciario.
OBJETIVOS:
La presente tesis doctoral se estructura en tres estudios independientes cuyos objetivos generales fueron:
- Adaptar transculturalmente al castellano y validar psicométricamente el instrumento QPC-FIPS (versiones profesionales).
- Adaptar transculturalmente al castellano y validar psicométricamente el instrumento QPC-FIP (versión personas atendidas).
- Evaluar la percepción de la calidad del cuidado desde la perspectiva de las personas atendidas y de los profesionales de las unidades de salud mental penitenciarias del Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu.
[eng] INTRODUCTION: Quality in Psychiatric Care is a multidimensional concept, influenced by the therapeutic relationship, participation in care planning, and the perception of the environment. Its manifestation impacts both the recovery of inpatients and the job satisfaction of staff. In the prison setting, evaluating quality is essential to ensure effective and humanized care. Despite the high prevalence of mental health issues among forensic in-patients, there is a lack of research comparing perceptions of quality of care between in-patients and healthcare staff. In this context, the Quality in Psychiatric Care (QPC) instrument family emerges as the most suitable, having been validated for both staff and in-patients across various settings (community settings, hospital, and forensic). In Spain, QPC instruments have been validated for hospital and community settings, but there is not adaptation for the forensic mental health setting. AIMS: This doctoral thesis is structured into three independent studies, with the following general aims: - To perform a cross-cultural adaptation into Spanish and psychometric validation of the QPC-FIPS instrument (staff’s version). - To perform a cross-cultural adaptation into Spanish and psychometric validation of the QPC-FIP instrument (in-patient’s version). - To assess the perception of care from the perspective of in-patients and staff in the Psychiatric Forensic Units of Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu.
