Els sons fricatius se sonoritzen quan es troben en posició final de mot i entren en contacte amb la vocal inicial del mot següent. Ara bé, en el cas dels labiodentals, la sonorització no és tan sistemàtica com en la resta de fricatius. Els estudis fònics que s’han publicat fins ara indiquen que la sonorització de la labiodental en posició final de mot i prevocàlica es produeix en funció de la posició de l’accent (com més a prop de la labiodental, menys possibilitats de sonorització), la qual cosa es demostra en aquest treball. A més, també es té en compte quin és el timbre vocàlic de la vocal que segueix la fricativa labiodental: [a]/[ǝ], [u] o [i], per si pogués ser un factor decisiu, i es demostra que no. A fi d’aconseguir aquesta informació, el treball consisteix en la descripció i l’anàlisi acústica dels sons que produeixen quatre grups de deu parlants, classificats en funció de l’edat i del sexe (40 parlants en total).
Fricative sounds are undergo a process of voicing assimilation when placed in word-final position and followed by a vowel. However, labiodentals, voicing is not a systematic as for the rest of fricative sounds. Previous phonic studies suggest that the process of voicing assimilation of the labiodental fricative in word-final position and followed by a vowel depends on the position of the stress (the closer to the labiodental, the less chance of voicing), a circumstance that we prove in this paper. Moreover, we also consider, as a intervening factor, the quality of the following vowel, [a] / [ǝ], [u] or [i], and we prove it is not relevant. In order to obtain this information, this paper includes the description and the acoustic analysis of the sounds produced by four groups of ten speakers, classified by age and sex.
