Sólo Memoria, sin Futuro: Diario de una Máquina

[spa] Actualmente la tecnología está permitiendo que concibamos el mundo de una forma diferente. El creciente desarrollo de la IA, las máquinas pensantes y las redes neuronales nos permiten reflexionar sobre la experiencia humana, sobre nuestras vidas conectadas y cómo pensamos el futuro. Los algoritmos de predicción moldean nuestra personalidad, nos reducen a un perfil en el big data y nos indican cómo vivir. Sólo Memoria, sin Futuro: Diario de una Máquina es una aproximación a la imaginación computacional, a través de un método de Inteligencia Artificial de generación de texto (GPT-3) y otro de generación de imagen (VQGAN+CLIP) que intentan predecir un futuro posible a partir de datos. La obra explora la posibilidad de generar un diario personal futuro mediante ambas. Usando un diario escrito por mí como único input, la primera red neuronal genera nuevo texto previendo una continuación futura del diario. Después, ese nuevo texto es introducido en la segunda red neuronal que genera las imágenes a partir del texto inventado por la primera.

[eng] Current technology is allowing us to conceive the world in a different way. The growing development of AI, thinking machines and neural networks allows us to reflect on the human experience, on our connected lives and how we think about the future. Prediction algorithms, shape our personality, reduce us to a profile in the big data and tell us how to live. Only Memory, no Future: Diary of a Machine is an approach to computational imagination, through an Artificial Intelligence method of text generation (GPT-3) and another of image generation (VQGAN+CLIP) that try to predict a possible future from data. The piece explores the possibility of generating a future personal diary through both. Using a diary written by me as the only input, the first neural network generates a new text anticipating a future continuation of the diary. Afterwards, the new text is introduced in the second neural network that generates the images from the text invented by the first.
