[esp] En este trabajo se plantea el estudio de la maternidad de las mujeres aristocráticas durante el Alto Imperio romano en la Península Itálica, abordando sus múltiples facetas: embarazo, parto y puerperio. La investigación se ha realizado a partir de la búsqueda de fuentes arqueológicas provenientes de colecciones de museos, las cuales han sido contrastadas con las fuentes textuales de la época. Además, se ha aplicado la aproximación teórica de la arqueología del género para una reconstrucción de la maternidad.
[eng] This work studies the maternity of aristocratic women during the High Roman Empire in the Italic Peninsula, addressing its multiple facets such as pregnancy, childbirth, and puerperium. It has been carried on the basis of archaeological sources from museum collections that have been corroborate d with the contemporary written sources . In addition, to have a basic approach and a subsequent result of this study for a reconstruction of the maternity of that time, the archaeological methodology has b een used through the application of the theoretical approach of the archaeology of gender.
