Resum
[eng] This article analyzes the account of contemporary Chinese philosophy presented in Contemporary Thought of Japan and China (1926, 1927) by Tsuchida Kyōson (1891-1934). Combining intellectual history and philosophical analysis, it first examines the geoideological premises of “de-Asianization,” “de-Sinicization,” and “Anglo-Saxonization” promoted by Japanese reformism during the Meiji period. It then draws on Tsuchida’s work to reconstruct the responses of Chinese philosophers and the forms of cultural resistance they developed. By contrasting these two trajectories, the study seeks to shed light on the processes of identity formation, differentiation, and adaptation to modernity that shaped the intellectual development of China and Japan.
