[cat] En el següent treball s’analitzen els aspectes generals que envolten l’Orde del Císter (com ara els seus orígens i la seva fundació) i l’arribada de l’orde religiós a la Catalunya Nova mitjançant els monestirs. Es defineixen temes de certa importància com l’organització que seguien els monjos que vivien als monestirs, les funcions d’aquests en tasques de repoblació a Catalunya i els efectes que produïen sobre el territori. Finalment es prenen com a exemples els tres monestirs més grans, importants i coneguts d’aquest orde: Poblet, Santes Creus i Vallbona de les Monges. De cadascun d’ells s’explica de manera breu la seva història des de la seva fundació fins als nostres dies.
[eng] The main aim of this project is to analyse the general characteristics of the Cistercian Order (from its origins and consequent foundation) and of the arrival of the Cistercian Order to Catalunya Nova by means of the monasteries. The project defines important matters such as the monks’ organisation in the monasteries, the monasteries’ function in the repopulation of Catalonia and their effects in the national territory. Finally, a brief history of the foundation and evolution of the three most important and well-known monasteries in the national territory (Poblet, Santes Creus and Vallbona de les Monges) is provided.
