El comerç atlàntic espanyol durant la colonització de Veneçuela a les Petites Antilles. Arqueometria ceràmica de materials de Cayo Sal (Los Roques, Veneçuela)

[cat] El present treball consisteix en un estudi sobre les dinàmiques comercials en època colonial entre l'imperi Espanyol i l'àrea de les Petites Antilles del Carib – especialment els segles XVI i XVII –. L'objectiu principal ha estat aprofundir en les relacions comercials en aquesta àrea del Carib – menys estudiada fins al moment – a partir de l'estudi dels contenidors de transport localitzats en prospecció a l'illa de Cayo Sal. En primer terme s'ha aportat la contextualització històrica i arqueològica. Seguidament, la hipòtesi resultant s'ha contrastat amb la caracterització arqueomètrica de les mostres de Cayo Sal. En aquesta segona part del treball s'ha cercat identificar la possible provinença – o origen – a partir d'estudiar la seva composició química. Les anàlisis emprades s'han centrat a efectuar una observació macroscòpica per lupa binocular, i en realitzar l'estudi fisicoquímic de les ceràmiques per mitjà de la Fluorescència de Raigs X (FRX). En haver determinat els grups que conformen les mostres de Cayo Sal, s'ha procedit a aplicar un estudi comparatiu amb un conjunt de ceràmiques estudiades en el marc del projecte Tecnolonial, al qual el present treball es troba vinculat.

[eng] The present work consists of a study of the trade dynamics in colonial times between the Spanish Empire and the area of the Lesser Caribbean Antilles – especially in the 16th and 17th centuries –. The main objective has been to deepen in the subject of trade relations in this area of the Caribbean – less studied so far – from the study of transport containers located in prospecting on the island of Cayo Sal. In the foreground, the historical and archaeological contextualization has been provided. Next in order, the resulting hypothesis has been contrasted with the archaeometric characterization of the twelve transport containers from the island of Cayo Sal (Los Roques, Venezuela). In this second part of the work we have tried to identify a possible provenance – or origin – from studying its chemical composition. The analyzes used have focused on making a macroscopic observation with a binocular magnifying glass, and on carrying out the physicochemical study of the ceramics by means of X-ray Fluorescence (FRX). Having determined the groups that make up the samples of Cayo Sal, a comparative study has been applied with a set of ceramics studied in the framework of the Tecnolonial project, to which the present work is linked.
