[cat] Aquest treball de fi de grau analitza com el patrimoni cultural és utilitzat com a eina
simbòlica en contextos de guerra a través de dos casos concrets: la destrucció del Museu
de Mossul i la reconstrucció de la Gran Mesquita d’Alep. A partir d’una anàlisi crítica i
interdisciplinària, es mostra com el patrimoni és instrumentalitzat amb finalitats
polítiques i econòmiques, tant en la seva eliminació com en la seva recuperació. El treball
posa en relleu el paper actiu del patrimoni en la configuració de relats de poder i memòria
col·lectiva.
[eng] This undergraduate thesis analyses how cultural heritage is used as a symbolic tool in war contexts by examining two specific cases: the destruction of the Mosul Museum and the reconstruction of the Great Mosque of Aleppo. Through a critical and interdisciplinary approach, it depicts how heritage can be instrumentalized for political and economic purposes, both in its destruction and in its restoration process. The thesis highlights the active role of heritage in shaping narratives of power and collective memory.
