Abstract
[eng] From the study of different enriched landowners on the island of Cuba, with special emphasis on Agustín Goytisolo, this research shows the number of Catalans who departed to Cuba, the means used by them to obtain their immense fortune and the importance of these assets for the Catalan economy. In fact, it is not possible to understand the economic development and property revolution at the end of 19th Century without the arrival of these economic resources.
