Abstract

[en] This thesis consists on an analysis of the decision-making problems, focusing on strategic games. We will start by looking at the basic concepts of Game Theory and some classifications. Next, we will focus on simultaneous games and will take a deep look into strategies, Nash Equilibrium and dominance in order to solve this type of games. Moreover, by looking at the Theory of the focal point we will be able to remark some solutions. Also, we will demonstrate the existence of an equilibrium by looking at the Fixed Point Theorem of Kakutani and the Nash Theorem, then mixed strategies are used to prove it in finite games. By using all the concepts viewed through the thesis, we will end up with an analysis of sequential games. Along the thesis we will give a wide variety of examples to get a better understanding of the concepts and see their scope and utility in Game Theory. Among them, we will find typical examples such as the prisoner dilemma, the auctions or oligopolies.
