Abstract
[cat] L'objectiu d’aquest treball és fer un estudi sobre l’hendíadis, una figura estilística que no apareix en els manuals i tractats antics, tot i ser un recurs prou emprat pels autors clàssics. En aquesta anàlisi, es plantegen dos problemes. D'una banda, el terminològic: el pas d'una perífrasi definitòria grega en les fonts conservades, fins al primer ús encunyat del terme tècnic actual. Aquesta qüestió ocupa la primera part del nostre treball. De l'altra banda, la definició d'hendíadis. En aquest segon apartat, es reuneixen les definicions que ofereixen diferents diccionaris i obres de referència en el camp de la Retòrica i l'Estilística, per tal d’analitzar-les i, a més, de contrastar el concepte d'hendíadis clàssica amb el d'hendíadis en llengües modernes, a partir d'exemples clàssics i moderns. Així, es pretén oferir un treball útil per a la consulta sobre aquesta figura estilística.
[eng] The main aim of this work is to carry out a study of the hendiadys, a stylistic figure that does not appear in the ancient manuals and treatises, despite being a sufficiently used resource by classical authors. In this analysis, two problems arise. On the one hand, the terminological one: the transition from a Greek defining periphrasis in the preserved sources, to the first coined use of the current technical term. This question occupies the first part of our work. On the other hand, the definition of hendiadys. In this second section, we bring together the definitions offered by different dictionaries and reference works in the field of Rhetoric and Stylistics, in order to analyse them and, furthermore, to contrast the concept of classical hendiadys with that of hendiadys in modern languages, on the basis of classical and modern examples. Thus, the aim is to provide a useful analysis for consultation on this stylistic figure.
