[cat] La present investigació és el resultat d’un estudi històrico-arqueològic sobre les evidències
arquitectòniques i funeràries de la pesta de Barcelona del segle XVII. Al llarg d’aquest
projecte s’ha tingut ocasió d’interpretar les fonts escrites, gràfiques i materials disponibles
per tal d’elaborar noves hipòtesis sobre la incidència de la pesta negra i altres malalties
infeccioses a la ciutat. Aquesta metodologia ens ha portat a revisar els treballs publicats fins
al moment i a elaborar una proposta de jaciments i edificis vinculats amb la crisi sanitària de
Barcelona entre els anys 1651 i 1654. A més, per raó d’aquesta temàtica, ha estat
imprescindible aprofundir en el context històrico-sanitari català de mitjans de segle per tal de
definir els principals escenaris relacionats amb el brot epidèmic (llatzerets, convents,
hospitals i fosses comunes).
[eng] This paper is the outcome of a historical-archaeological study about the architectural and funerary evidence of the 17th century plague in Barcelona. Throughout this project, we had the opportunity to interpret the written sources, graphics and material evidence in order to develop new hypotheses about the incidence of black plague and other infectious diseases in the city. This methodology has led us to review the published works to draw up a proposal about places related to the health crisis in Barcelona between 1651 and 1654. In addition, it has been necessary to delve into the Catalan historical-sanitary context of the middle of the century to define the main scenarios related to the epidemic outbreak (lazarettos, convents, hospitals and mass graves).
