[spa] El texto es el resultado de la entrevista realizada a la profesora Teresa Navas-Ferrer, especialista en urbanismo e historia de las obras públicas, y toma como punto de referencia fundamental el pensamiento y las ideas de Ildefonso Cerdà −en el contexto de las décadas centrales (1840-1875) del siglo XIX español. Un pensamiento y unas ideas que son indisociables de los planes y proyectos que Cerdà llevó a cabo, y que deben considerarse de forma conjunta, asimismo, con la dimensión pública (y, particularmente, política) de la trayectoria vital del insigne urbanista.
[eng] The text is the result of an interview with Professor Teresa Navas, a specialist in Urban planning and History of public works, and takes the figure of Ildefonso Cerdà as a fundamental point of reference −in the context of the central decades (1840 -1875) of Spanish XIX century. We depart from the assumption that thought and ideas are, in the case of Cerdà, inseparable from the plans and projects he carried out. Furthermore, we pay special attention to the political dimension of Cerdà's life because it also helps us to better understand its global trajectory.
