Abstract
[eng] Dermatological anatomical models made with wax are sculptures from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, made by artists hired by doctors, who served as pedagogical material for the study of diseases, surgical procedures and conditions. This work analyzes these pieces from the relation established between art and science which is the necessity of the artistic representation to be able to transmit the communicative capacity better and expresses how the art is a didactic tool in the education of knowledge. This work examines how the conception of art has changed over the times, and how these pieces have acquired different artistic values and considerations along them. A detailed study of the works is carried out describing and analyzing the elements that form them, and other intrinsic perspectives of each one of them. An artistic catalog of sculptures is proposed, to publicize them and make them reach to the general public so that they have the opportunity to appreciate them.
