[spa] “Atando cabos: Irán” es una obra artística de activismo político compuesta por una serie de talleres de bordado colaborativo que resultan en la confección de un mural de patchwork vinculado con la crisis de derechos humanos iraní datada entre el 2022 y el 2023. Este escrito investiga la relación entre la obra y su memoria histórica, enlazando el feminismo y el arte textil mediante la práctica que le precedió y cuestionando la jerarquía entre arte y artesanía. De otro lado, analiza la ilación entre la colectividad y esta propuesta y expone la simbología empleada en los bordados del mural.
[eng] “Connecting the Dots: Iran” is a political artwork composed by a series of embroidery workshops that result in the confection of a patchwork banner tied to the human rights crisis in Iran dated from 2022 to 2023. This text investigates the link between the artwork and its historic memory, binding feminism and textile art through the practice that preceded it and questioning the hierarchy of arts and crafts. Furthermore, it analyses the bound between collectivity and this proposal while exposing the symbolism employed in the embroidery of the mural.
