[cat] La domus del chirurgo de Rímini constitueix un testimoni excepcional de l’arquitectura domèstica romana d’època imperial. L’obra es contextualitza a Rímini, ciutat de la regió de l’Emília-Romanya. El conjunt va ser descobert en el 1989, durant els treballs de sistematització dels jardins públics de la plaça Ferrari. L’àrea arqueològica destaca, principalment, per la troballa de nombrosos exemplars de pintura mural, mosaics, objectes mobles i ornaments d’alta qualitat tècnica i formal. Entre les troballes, sobresurt el conjunt d’instruments quirúrgics que esdevé un dels més complets i variats del món romà. La descoberta no deixa dubtes envers la professió de l'últim habitant de la domus previ a l’incendi de mitjan segle III.
[eng] The domus del chirurgo in Rimini is an exceptional example of Roman domestic architecture from the Imperial period. The building is located in Rimini, a city in the Emilia-Romagna region. The complex was discovered in 1989 during the reorganization works of the public gardens of Piazza Ferrari. The archaeological site is notable mainly for the discovery of numerous examples of wall paintings, mosaics, furniture and ornaments of high technical and formal quality. Among the finds, the set of surgical instruments stands out as one of the most complete and varied in the Roman world. The discovery leaves no doubt about the profession of the last inhabitant of the domus before the fire in the mid-3rd century
