[spa]La androginia es una condición de la identidad en la que los atributos de lo masculino y lo femenino conviven en un mismo individuo, eliminando cualquier rastro del género. En este trabajo se estudiarán tres novelas de ciencia ficción feministas de los años 70, The left hand of darkness de Ursula K. Le Guin, The female man de Joanna Russ y Woman on the edge of time de Marge Piercy, que abordan el tema de la androginia como
herramienta de discusión de los estudios de género. Así pues, con este análisis literario se pretende averiguar si la androginia es un concepto que ayuda a la resolución del conflicto de la polarización del género o sigue siendo un aparato enfatizador de la estructura dominante patriarcal.
[eng]Androgyny is a condition of identity in which masculine and feminine attributes coexist in the same being, removing any trace of gender. This paper will study three feminist science fiction novels from the 70s, The left hand of darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin, The female man by Joanna Russ and Woman on the edge of time by Marge Piercy, which address the topic of androgyny as tool for discussing gender studies’ issues. Thus, this literary analysis aims to find out if androgyny is a concept that helps to resolve the conflict of gender polarization or remains a mecanism that stresses the patriarchal dominant structure.
