Abstract
[spa] Se pretende efectuar una aportación desde el campo de la geografía a la interpretación de la relación existente. entre excedente y guerra. El instinto de supervivencia aplicado por el hombre le permite la manipulación del medio geográfico y la obtención de un excedente a través del trabajo. Las diversas formas posibles de legitimación de la apropiación y de la gestión de dicho excedente pueden seguir diversos modelos sociales y diversas formas de actuación. Entre éstas se presenta la guerra como medio, en una situación límite,. ,de apropiación .de territorio para la apropiación/gestión del excedente, abriendo como nueva dimensión el importante papel del espacio en un conflicto armado.
[fra] Il s'agit ici d'établir un rapport, depuis un point de vue géographique, sur la relation existente entre« excédent et guerre». L 'instinct de supervivence practiqué par l' homme lui permet de manipuler le milieu géographique et d'obtenir des excédents à travers le travail. Les diverses possibilités de légitimation et de gestion des excédents peuvent suivre differents chemins et modèles sociaux. Parmi ces options, et compte tenu d'une situation extrême, la guerre se présente comme le moyen d'anexion d'un territoire en vu de l´appropriation et de la gestion de cet excédent: l'importance du rôle de l'espace dans un conflict armé est donc mis en évidence.
[eng] This paper aims to provide a geographical contribution to elucidate the relationship between surplus and war. The human instinct of survival leads both to a manipulation of geographical environment and to an obtention of surplus through labour. The different posibilities to legitimate and manage this surplus may follow various social patterns and proceedings. Among them, the war can be the last mean to approprite and manage the surplus, by the annexation of territory, opening so a new insight about the role played by the space in wars.
