Abstract
[spa] La Torre del Silencio propone un viaje extraño e inquietante a través del subconsciente y las sombras que este proyecta. Es a través del análisis de cuestiones como el tiempo cíclico del mito, el arquetipo, o lo abyecto junto a la exploración de métodos de producción de deriva surrealista como el fotomontaje o la escritura automática, que lo raro y lo espeluznante se conceptualizan como formas de emanación de lo inconsciente. Utilizando el medio interactivo como base práctica, se desarrolla un videojuego que pretende interpelar al jugador generando una atmósfera y un estilo visual propio que reivindiquen el potencial artístico y narrativo de este medio. La torre en la que transcurre el juego se manifiesta como espacio liminal en el que emergen temáticas como las de la vida, la muerte y el destino a través de lo oculto, convirtiéndose en una manifestación simbólica de la estructura psíquica y sus misterios. Un lugar en el que ocurren sucesos mediados por sus propias normas y entidades extrañas que moran la torre y que el jugador, personificado en una momia, descubrirá a medida que descienda.
[eng] The Tower of Silence proposes a strange and unsettling journey through the subconscious and the shadows it projects. Through the analysis of concepts such as the cyclical time of myth, the archetype, and the abject—alongside the exploration of surrealist production methods like photomontage and automatic writing—the eerie and the uncanny are conceptualized as forms of unconscious emanation. Using the interactive medium as a practical foundation, a video game is developed with the intention of engaging the player, generating a unique atmosphere and visual style that assert the artistic and narrative potential of this medium. The tower in which the game unfolds emerges as a liminal space where themes such as life, death, and fate are revealed through the hidden. It becomes a symbolic manifestation of the psychic structure and its mysteries—a place governed by its own rules, where strange entities dwell, and where the player, embodied as a mummy, uncovers its secrets as they descend.
