Abstract
[cat] De call vermell neix com a resposta a la frenètica activitat turística que pateix l’illa de Mallorca i a les conseqüències devastadores que aquesta comporta. Mentre les platges s’omplen de visitants, les empreses locals van tancant,
l’especulació del sòl augmenta i l’escassetat de recursos es fa cada cop més evident.
Aquest projecte no només es planteja com una crítica, sinó també com una actitud i un compromís. Reivindica l’ús de productes locals, com la terra de gerrer i la llana, amb l’objectiu de revalorar la indústria local. També defensa un model de vida lligat a la terra, basat en la senzillesa i el treball manual, fent valdre els processos lents i promovent la desacceleració, imprescindible per a un desenvolupament sostenible a una illa on els recursos són limitats.
Les tres obres que conformen el projecte, Guaret, Almangra i Terrer responen a aquestes premisses a partir de l’ús experimental del material i a través d’un llenguatge gràfic.
[eng] De call vermell was created as a response to the frantic tourist activity affecting the island of Mallorca and the devastating consequences it brings. While the beaches fill with visitors, local businesses are closing, land speculation is increasing, and resource scarcity is becoming more evident. This project is not only a critique but also an attitude and a commitment. It advocates for the use of local materials, such as potter’s clay and wool, with the aim of revitalizing the island’s local industry. It also promotes a way of life connected to the land, grounded in simplicity and manual labor, highlighting the value of slow processes and fostering deceleration, essential for sustainable development on an island with limited resources. The three works that make up the project, Guaret, Almangra and Terrer, respond to these premises based on the experimental use of the material and through a graphic language.
