Aunque en la reciente historia política española se han dado diferentes situaciones parlamentarias que auguraban la formación de un gobierno estatal de coalición, ello solamente ha sucedido en la formación del actual Gobierno. Los efectos de los procesos electorales de 2015 tanto en el ámbito estatal como en el autonómico, unidos a la fallida investidura de Pedro Sánchez en septiembre de 2019, han hecho más necesario aún intentar comprender por qué el gobierno de coalición no ha aparecido como un resultado normal en la política española.
Although in the recent Spanish political history there have been different parlia-mentary situations that predicted the formation of a national coalition government, this only has happened when forming the current government. The effects of the 2015 electoral proces-ses both at the national and subnational level, together with the failed investiture of Pedro Sánchez in September 2019, have made it even more necessary to try to understand why the coalition government does not appeared as a normal result in Spanish politics.
