Discursos sobre la transmissió de l’anglès als fills en famílies catalanòfones i castellanòfones

Abstract

[eng] In this paper are shown the results of five interviews of parents who have spoken English to their children. It is a sociolinguistic research which looks for the reasons of this phenomenon which is still very minoritary and restricted to certain profiles of people. In the interview five key aspects for the explanation of fact are reviewed: the linguistic identity and the competences and languages use of the parents, the planification of the transmission of English and the linguistic ideologies of the parents, the language use with the children and finally the reaction of the social environment of the parents to the fact they transmit a language which is not their mother tongue.

[cat] En aquest treball es mostren els resultats de cinc entrevistes a pares amb fills als quals han parlat en anglès. És una investigació sociolingüística que busca les raons d’aquest fenomen encara molt minoritari i restringit a perfils concrets. En l’entrevista es repassen cinc aspectes clau per a l’explicació del fet: la identitat lingüística i les competències i els usos dels pares, la planificació de la transmissió de l’anglès i les ideologies lingüístiques dels pares, els usos lingüístics amb els fills i finalment la reacció de l’entorn dels pares al fet que transmeti una llengua que no es materna.
