Abstract
[spa] El proyecto «El refugio de guerra en tiempos de paz: aproximación a su estética y funcionalidad desde el ámbito del arte contemporáneo israelí» aborda las diversas formas de representación del refugio público en el arte israelí contemporáneo, tomando en cuenta aspectos sociales y procesos socio-económicos en Israel desde los años 40 y hasta la actualidad. Examina cómo las diversas problemáticas que se pliegan en la idea del “refugio de guerra” en la sociedad israelí se reflejan en la práctica artística contemporánea y cómo el arte, a su manera, busca “curar” el trauma de las situaciones de emergencia relacionadas con los
conflictos bélicos. El trabajo práctico ofrece una interpretación visual de la forma arquetípica del refugio
de guerra en pintura y en instalación y lo descontextualiza. De esta manera, quiere crear una nueva entidad imaginaria del refugio, desconectada del contexto local, y ofrece una mirada alternativa que invita a examinar la idea del refugio en un contexto más amplio.
[eng] The project “The War Shelter in Times of Peace: Different Approaches to its Esthetics and Functionality in Israeli Contemporary Art” addresses the various forms of representation of the public war shelter in contemporary Israeli art, taking into account social aspects and socio-economic processes in Israel since the 40’s and up to the present. It examines how the various issues that are folded into the idea of “shelter” in Israeli society are reflected in contemporary artistic practice and how art, in its own way, seeks to “heal” the trauma of conflict-related emergencies. The artistic work offers a visual interpretation of the archetypal form of the war shelter in painting and installation and decontextualizes it. In this way, it wants to create a new imaginary entity of the shelter, disconnected from the local context, and offers an alternative gaze that invites us to examine the idea of the shelter in a broader context.
