[eng] This dissertation consists of 7 letters, 6 of which are addressed to women in my family, in these I reflect about the idea of identity, in particular, feminine identity and the importance that the family home has had in its creation, through textiles and the mother-daughter relationship. Lastly the remaining letter is addressed to the daughter I will probably never have.
To materialize this idea I have created a patchwork cloak from scraps of different fabrics, screen printed with images of the women the letters are addressed to and embroidered with quotations from women artists, writers and philosophers who have fought for feminism and equality. The cloak also highlights an embroidered poem by Rosalía de Castro: Adiós ríos, adios fontes, with which I say goodbye to the place I have lived in, to start my adult life outside of the family home.
