[spa] En el siguiente trabajo se encontrará un pequeño estudio explicativo de la concepción del suicidio en occidente, desde la antigüedad hasta el romanticismo. Así mismo, también se expondrán con-ceptos directamente relacionados, como la melancolía y el movimiento romántico. Seguidamente, se hablará de la relación del suicidio y la ópera y se escogerá Tristán e Isolda (Wagner, 1865) para elaborar un estudio diacrónico de sus representaciones escenográficas, desde el romanticismo hasta la actualidad. Finalmente se presentará una propuesta escenográfica contemporánea de la ópera mencionada.
[eng] In the following work you will find an explanatory study of the conception of suicide in the west-ern world, from ancient Greece to the romantic movement. Likewise, there will be exposed re-lated concepts, such as melancholy and romanticism. Next, the relationship between suicide and opera will be discussed, and Tristan and Isolde (Wagner, 1865) will be chosen to elaborate a dia-chronic study of it’s scenographic representations, from romanticism to the present day. Finally, a contemporary scenographic proposal of the mentioned opera will be presented.
