[spa] El propósito de este artículo es recorrer la cadena de pensamientos que condujo a María Zambrano a discrepar de su maestro, José Ortega y Gasset, en relación al vínculo que cabe establecer entre los movimientos artísticos de las primeras décadas del siglo XX y los procesos de deshumanización que atraviesan la moderna cultura occidental. Para ello se atiende en primer lugar a la reflexión de Zambrano a propósito del expresionismo y del futurismo, y más tarde a lo que esta misma autora escribió sobre el interés que las máscaras suscitaron en artistas pertenecientes a diversos movimientos de vanguardia.
[eng] The purpose of this article is to go through the chain of thoughts that led María Zambrano to disagree with her teacher, José Ortega y Gasset, in relation to the link that can be established between the artistic movements of the first decades of the 20th century and the dehumanization processes that modern Western culture goes through. In order to do this, we first look at Zambrano's reflection on Expressionism and Futurism, and later on what this same author wrote about the interest that mask aroused in artists belonging to various avant-garde movements.
