El Fons Històric De La Biblioteca Fernando Arranz De La Facultat De Nàutica De Barcelona

Abstract

Aquest treball analitza el fons històric de la Biblioteca Fernando Arranz de la Facultat de Nàutica de Barcelona, una col·lecció patrimonial de gran valor exposada a diversos riscos de conservació. A partir d’un marc teòric sobre conservació preventiva i gestió del risc, s’avalua l’estat de conservació de les monografies i de les cartes nàutiques, així com les condicions d’emmagatzematge i d’ús. Els resultats evidencien degradacions, mancances ambientals i l’absència de protocols específics. Com a resposta, es proposa un pla de conservació preventiva amb mesures a curt, mitjà i llarg termini, i accions de difusió per millorar el coneixement del fons i fomentar una cultura institucional de la preservació.

This work analyzes the historical collection of the Fernando Arranz Library of the Faculty of Nautical Studies of Barcelona, a heritage collection of great value exposed to various conservation risks. Based on a theoretical framework on preventive conservation and risk management, the state of conservation of the monographs and nautical charts is assessed, as well as the storage and use conditions. The results reveal different types of deterioration, environmental shortcomings, and the absence of specific protocols. In response, a preventive conservation plan is proposed with short-, medium-, and long-term measures, together with outreach actions to improve knowledge of the collection and foster an institutional culture of preservation.
