[cat]L’octubre de 1977, el president de la Generalitat de Catalunya a l’exili va tornar al país, en un acte carregat de simbolisme i ambició política. El cineasta Pere Portabella en va dirigir la posada en escena, aprofitant l’ocasió per mostrar, a través de les imatges i del guió dels actes, el canvi polític que s’estava produint. Aquest treball analitza com es va construir audiovisualment i escènicament aquest retorn, i com es va reconstruir la identitat d’una institució abolida durant la dictadura franquista. També es qüestiona quin pes hi va tenir la memòria republicana en aquesta reconstrucció i si les noves institucions (i els seus mitjans de comunicació) prodemocràtiques es basaven en el passat o apostaven per una mirada cap al futur.
[eng]In October 1977, the president of the Generalitat of Catalonia in exile returned to the country in an event charged with symbolism and political ambition. Filmmaker Pere Portabella directed its staging, seizing the opportunity to reflect the ongoing political shift through images and the script of the official acts. This paper analyzes how this return was constructed both audiovisually and scenically, and how the identity of an institution abolished during Franco’s dictatorship was reconstructed. It also examines the role that memory for the republican era may have played in this reconstruction, and whether the emerging pre-democratic institutions (and media) drew from the past or looked toward the future.
