L'antropologia i l'art de les ombres

[cat] Des dels seus inicis a finals del segle xix, l'antropologia s'ha interessat en el tema de l'ombra. Així, diferents autors han posat en relleu el fet que en molts contextos cultu- rals l'ombra no era concebuda tan sols com un efecte lumínic de naturalesa representati- va, sinó més aviat com un doble o una extensió de la persona, com una presència viva. La noció de doble constitueix precisament un dels conceptes clau del cinema, art de les ombres per excel·lència. Aquest text s'endinsa en els múltiples encreuaments entre antro- pologia i cinema en relació amb l'estudi de l'ombra. A mode de conclusió, narra algunes de les experiències del rodatge del documental etnogràfic Els caçadors d'ombres (Roger Canals, 2019).

[eng] Since its inception, anthropology has been interested in the subject of "sha- dows". Thus, different authors have emphasized the fact that in many cultural contexts "shadows" were not conceived as a mere light effect of representative nature, but rather as a double or extension of the person, as a living presence. The notion of "double" is precisely one of the key concepts of cinema, the art of shadows par excellence. This text delves into the multiple intersections between anthropology and film in relation to the study of the shadows. In conclusion, it narrates some of the experiences of shooting pro- cess of the ethnographic documentary Chasing Shadows (Roger Canals, 2019).
