[eng]In this work, I analyze the artistic trajectory of Aurèlia Muñoz (1926–2011) through two key aspects of her practice: the study and revival of traditional textile techniques, and the exploration of the spatial and sculptural possibilities of textile language in her work. Aurèlia Muñoz’s artistic production is situated within the renewal of contemporary textile art associated with the Nouvelle Tapisserie and Fiber Art movements during the 1960s and 1970s. I have based this research on a bibliographical and hemerographical review, as well as on the analysis of a selection of her works. This approach allows me to examine how Aurèlia Muñoz employed traditional textile techniques such as embroidery and macramé, while exploring their artistic potential through the spatial deployment of her works, thereby engaging with contemporary artistic discourses surrounding the transformations of modern sculpture. From historicist and feminist perspectives, I reclaim Aurèlia Muñoz’s artistic legacy and propose a reconsideration of the place that textile arts and their women practitioners should occupy within the history of contemporary art.
