Gaia, hilos invisibles

Abstract

[spa] Gaia, hilos invisibles es un proyecto artístico y de investigación que tiene como punto de partida la hipótesis Gaia, con la cual establezco una narrativa con el foco en la precaria y deteriorada relación entre la hu manidad y Gaia (la Tierra). Una defensa de la respons-habilidad ante el único hogar, uno compartido, que conocemos. Mi investigación examina los problemas generados en esta dinámica cada vez más insostenible y, al mismo tiempo, busca nuevos paradigmas remendadores, que trans formen el rol de la humanidad en la Tierra, para abandonar la actual co existencia paralela, en aras de reintegrarnos a los ecosistemas de esta. Me sitúo en un contexto donde la práctica artística contemporánea aborda la presente crisis climática, en un marco interdisciplinario, de trabajo en red y de especulación de imaginarios más sostenibles. De modo que reivindico la artesanía textil como práctica artística digna, frente a la tec nolatría moderna. Con esto en mente, la obra que propongo, un tapiz de macramé, representa un espacio de reparación simbólica colectiva, donde el nudo deviene una acción remendadora y el trabajo colectivo una estrategia para tejer nuevas soluciones.

Gaia, invisible threads is an artistic and research project that ta kes the Gaia hypothesis as its starting point, through which I establish a narrative focused on the fragile and deteriorated relationship between humanity and Gaia (the Earth). It is a defense of response-ability towards the only home we know, a shared one. My research examines the problems generated by this increasingly unsustainable dynamic and, at the same time, seeks new mending paradigms that might transform humanity’s role on Earth, moving away from the current state of parallel coexistence toward a reintegration into its ecosystems. I situate myself within a context where contemporary artistic practice addresses the cu rrent climate crisis through an interdisciplinary framework, networked collaboration, and the speculation of more sustainable imaginaries. In this way, I reclaim textile craft as a legitimate artistic practice in contrast to modern technolatry. With this in mind, the proposed work, a macramé tapestry, represents a space of collective symbolic repair, where the knot becomes an act of mending and collective labor, a strategy for weaving new solutions.
