Abstract
[spa] El objetivo de este articulo es plantear, a partir de la experiencia actual del grupo indígena pumé, toda una serie de interrogantes que permitan abordar en profundidad el análisis de las relaciones entre los grupos indígenas de Venezuela y el estado nacional en el contexto político creado a partir de la aprobación, en 1999, de la Constitución de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela. Para ello el articulo se organiza en tres bloques temáticos. En el primero se aborda la percepción actual que desde las comunidades se tiene del proceso político venezolano. En el segundo, se analiza comparativamente la lógica de la 'nueva institucionalidad' indígena que se ha generado desde el Estado. En el tercero, se describen algunas de las alternativas políticas indígenas que surgen desde las mismas comunidades pumé en el contexto actual de visibilización y reconocimiento de los derechos indígenas en Venezuela.
[eng] Starting out from the current experience of the Pumé indigenous group, the purpose of this article is to raise some questions that will enable us to analyse in depth the relationships between the indigenous groups of Venezuela and the national state in the poiitical context emerging after the alpproval, in 1999, of the Constitution of the Boiivarian Repubiic of Venezuela. To this effect, the article can be divided in three thematic units. The first deals ~vith the communities' current perception of the Venezuelan poiitical process. The second puts fonvard a comparative analysis of the logics of the indigenous 'new institutionaiity'generated by the state. In the third, some of the indigenous poiiticai aiternatives are described, alternatives that are produced by the Pumé communities in the current context of visuaiisation and recognition of indigeinous rights in Venezuela.
