[en] Causal inference is a branch of mathematics focused on the study of cause-effect relationships. In this work we introduce the basics and some of the most relevant results in the structural causal models framework with the aim to identify causal effects. As an example of implementing such techniques, we apply them to a study of the causal effect of two different treatments on the survival or progression of prostate cancer patients.
