The Second Language Promotion Plan was created with the firm intention of being an essential tool for normalizing the Catalan language in all academic activities and for promoting language policies that courageously aim to reverse Catalan’s status as a minoritized language. Strengthening and fostering the use of Catalan is the responsibility of the governing bodies and the entire UB community, and it must be done, as this plan proposes, with the conviction that our millenary language is the proper, normal, and preferred language of our centuries-old university. Approved by the Governing Council on July 16, 2025.
