Abstract
[eng] “When I am afraid” is a project that uses art and craftsmanship as a method of reflecting on and managing the emotion of fear in children, combining educational experience with the family environment through natural dyeing techniques learned within the context of service-learning agreements (ApS). During the project, a space for reflection and knowledge exchange is developed, where cocreation and creative participation facilitate new interpersonal relationships. The artistic object as a means of mediating emotions and the creation of natural dyes has been the methodology used to produce a tangible result: an “anti-fear doll” made with natural dyes and pattern making. The role of the workshop facilitator, connected to various pedagogical methodologies, has played a key role throughout the process. This project explores fear, emotional mediation, the creation of natural dyes, and textile art.
