Resum
This Bachelor’s Thesis aims to present a rigorous derivation of the Black-Scholes-Merton option pricing formula using the martingale approach and stochastic calculus. Instead of relying on the classical partial differential equations method, we adopt a probabilistic framework based on the change of measure and risk-neutral valuation. The necessary mathematical foundations are developed, including martingale theory, Itô calculus, Girsanov’s theorem, and the martingale representation theorem. We then model an idealized financial market under the assumptions of the Black-Scholes framework and apply stochastic tools to derive the pricing formula for European options. Finally, we discuss hedging strategies and analyze the sensitivity of option prices through the so-called "Greeks." This work combines advanced tools from probability theory and mathematical finance and provides a clear understanding of the role that stochastic processes play in the valuation of derivative instruments.
