Abstract
[eng] This essay expands on the strict analysis of the literary critic developed by the Romantic theorist Nicomedes-Pastor Díaz, which authorizes us unerringly his registration to the canon of the history of literature as one of the most renowned thinkers of the Romantic movement within the first half of the 19th Century. Taking into account the prologue he dedicates to José Zorrilla's Poesías, the essayist displays throughout his compilation of articles -assembled in Álbum literario- the primary concerns that laid the foundation of the development of Romanticism in Spain. These concerns being the genius originality, the indispensable and essential professionalization of the historical novel, the irrevocable recession of the rigid and classist rules of literature -all of them considered to be obsolete at the time- and the assumption of Catholicism as society's aesthetic education, this last issue being one of his main inquisitiveness.
