[spa] En este artículo, abordo las críticas específicas que Santiago Castro-Gómez dirigió
hacia la Filosofía de la Liberación de América Latina en la década de 1990, y las
críticas generales que Seyla Benhabib dirigió hacia las "reivindicaciones de las
culturas" en el ámbito político, con el propósito de resaltar el potencial universalista
de los escritos de algunos de sus pensadores más representativos, como Enrique
Dussel y Juan Carlos Scannone. Para hacer esto, analizo la retórica original del
movimiento a la luz del contexto histórico de su surgimiento, y ofrezco algunas
sugerencias para comprender la tradición como portadora potencial de un "nuevo
punto de partida" para "otro cosmopolitismo".
[eng] In this article, I address the specific criticisms that Santiago Castro-Gómez directed towards Latin American Liberation Philosophy in the decade of 1990, and the general critiques that Seyla Benhabib directed towards the «claims of cultures» in the political arena, with the purpose to highlight the universalistic potential withing the writings of some of its most representative thinkers, as Enrique Dussel and Juan Carlos Scannone. In order to do this, I analyse the original rhetoric of the movement in light of the historical context of its emergence, and I offer some suggestions for an understanding of the tradition as a potential bearer of a "new starting point" for "another cosmopolitanism".
