Abstract
[eng] The removal of the Romanesque wall paintings from the apse of the church of San Lorenzo de Isabarre in 1953, and their subsequent sale on the international market, resulted in the dispersal of the assemblage among different museums and private collections. The obfuscation with which this act of plunder was carried out caused the loss of knowledge about the layout and original location of the different figures. Recently, three of the fragments that had been missing since the middle of the last century were found in a private Swiss collection. Thanks to their study, as well as the remains of the deep layer preserved in the apse wall, we can recompose the configuration of this group of paintings, as well as identify some of the figures portrayed correctly.
