Health and socio-sanitary social inclusion in women survivors of ipv: a comparison between recovery’s phases

Abstract

[eng] This research work examines the differences in health and socio-sanitary social inclusion among survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) according to the recovery phases they are in, specifically in the last three phases. The study aims to identify if there are variations in the well-being of IPV survivors as they progress through these phases. This was done using the health and socio-sanitary dimensions of the multidimensional model for assessing the liberation and recovery of women and its battery of instruments (Neus Roca Cortés, 2013). The findings of this research did not reveal significant differences between the phases in the studied aspects; however, they reflect the profound impact of IPV on the mental and physical health of survivors, such as depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and various physical and sexual consequences, and their decrease over time as they move towards recovery. These results emphasize the need for future research in this area to develop more effective interventions and treatment strategies tailored to the needs of women experiencing IPV.

[spa] Este trabajo de investigación examina las diferencias en la salud y la inclusión social sociosanitaria entre supervivientes de violencia de pareja íntima (VPI) según las fases de recuperación en las que se encuentran, específicamente en las tres últimas fases. El estudio tiene como objetivo identificar si existen variaciones en el bienestar de las sobrevivientes de VPI a medida que avanzan a través de estas fases. Esto se realizó utilizando las dimensiones de salud y socio-sanitarias del modelo multidimensional de evaluación de la liberación y recuperación de las mujeres y su batería de instrumentos (Neus Roca Cortés, 2013). Los hallazgos de esta investigación no revelaron diferencias significativas entre las fases en los aspectos estudiados; sin embargo, reflejan el profundo impacto de la VPI en la salud mental y física de las sobrevivientes, como la depresión, el trastorno de estrés postraumático y diversas consecuencias físicas y sexuales y su disminución con el paso del tiempo dirigidos a su recuperación. Estos resultados remarcan la necesidad de investigaciones futuras en este ámbito para desarrollar intervenciones y estrategias de tratamiento más efectivas adaptadas a las necesidades de las mujeres que viven VPI.
